Joshua Van, Manel Kape Trade Barbs Ahead of Potential Title Clash: 'Finally Came Out of Hiding'
Joshua Van and Manel Kape are exchanging heated words, hinting at an upcoming title fight.
Van recently retained his flyweight title against Alexandre Pantoja via decision at UFC 301. Following this win, Kape appeared set for the next title shot. Although no bout is officially scheduled, the two fighters are already trading insults, with Van warning Kape about making weight.
"Yo fat f**k. Start cutting now cuz you better make weight! We don’t want another weight excuse. Let’s give the people what they want," Van posted on X.
While Van’s post didn't name Kape, the contender responded directly.
"Finally came out of hiding, son? They told me you weren’t sure about facing your dad, but I guess there’s nowhere left to run. I promised I’d change your diapers, & I always keep my word. By the way, the weight I’m putting on is just so I can put you to sleep even earlier than Charles Johnson did," Kape retorted.
The animosity between Joshua Van and Manel Kape is evident, suggesting their potential fight announcement will be accompanied by significant trash talk.
Following Kape's accusation of hiding, the UFC flyweight champion refuted the claim.
"Hiding ?? I been here, like I always am. You just too busy shopping for bra , udk wht been goin on," Van replied.
Kape quickly fired back with a warning about how their potential fight might unfold.
"The only things I’ve been shopping for are diapers & your health insurance. Trust me, you’re gonna need both. And like a good father, I’m making sure everything’s taken care of in advance. I only need One clean shot and your face won’t match your passport anymore. #disfigured," Kape stated.
The Van vs. Kape matchup is not yet announced but is expected soon and should be a highly anticipated contest.
